Jazz At The Drakensberg NPC was formed in 2017 as a mobile jazz academy project facilitated by jazz pioneers, imparting their skills for the full benefit of developing jazz musicians to reach their full potential, enabling them to be self-sustainable and gain mainstream recognition on various national and international platforms.

National Lifestyle Jazz festival aimed at positioning the Drakensberg as the value for money, alternative and ultimately preferred holidaying destination for local national and international markets offering them fun-filled and memorable Drakensberg weekend gate-away experience. This is done through offering them high end hospitality packages suitable for their entertainment and leisure needs in so doing sustaining , promoting and economically benefiting local tourism products.

DRAKENSBERG JAZZ ENSEMBLE

JAZZ AT THE DRAKENSBERG FOUNDATION invites talented and disciplined performing artists to be trained with a possibility of being part of an exciting new jazz academy project, Drakensberg Jazz Ensemble.

  • Reside or from uThukela District Municipality from either of the local municipalities of uKhahlamba, Inkosi Langalibalele or Alfred Duma.
  • Be able to play at least one music instrument between Bass Guitar, Lead Guitar, Drums, Horns or Keys or can sing.
  • Be willing and be dedicated to be part of the project’s capacity building program
  • Willing to travel
  • Have no existing contractual obligation/s

If you feel you are the perfect candidate, please feel free to send us a video clip of yourself playing one of the mentioned musical instrument/s or singing. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for a final call of physical adjudication . Selected candidates will form part of Drakensberg Jazz Ensemble. Stipends, accommodation, training and performance fees will be provided to successful candidates.
